Ripple Effect Small Group Sign-Ups

From now until February 14, a table will be out at church where you can sign up to participate in a Ripple Effect small group. There are small groups meeting different nights, in different towns... for women or men... for couples, singles or mixed... some even with childcare provisions! To find out more, look for the Ripple Effect banner on Sunday.
If you're already in a small group that will be studying the Ripple Effect material, no need to sign up - your leader will register your whole group.
If you're interested in finding out more about leading a new 6-week small group (training provided), please contact Jane Sumner, JaneESumner@aol.com, 408.356.5649.
Volunteer in Shepherd's Village!
- We need weekly help setting up and tearing down furniture and equipment in Shepherd’s Village. If you feel you need a good workout on Sunday, this might be for you!
- Technical help for setting up the AV equipment is needed in room 103 every Sunday. The task takes about 15-20 minutes and is done by 8:50 a.m. A great way to ensure you'll make it into service on time!
- Creative Communicators (actors + singers + puppeteers) needed throughout the year for the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. children's programs. Any level of skill in this field is welcome. Your enthusiasm and love for God’s word is the most important asset in this task. We’ll help you get started.
- 1 Small group leader needed 2 times/month for Preschool age kids (Pandas/Kangaroos) at 10:30 a.m. We will provide the leader’s guide and material and you will be working with a group of fantastic people.
- Help is also needed with occasional sewing, craft, and wood working projects. Let us know if you have skills in these fields and a will to help out when needed.

The Churchwide Nominating Committee is seeking recommendations of both men and women for the position of elder for the next year. Elders provide vision, wisdom, and oversight for the direction of the church and for pastoral staff. Elders serve on Session, which meets weekly, praying for the life of the church and its members and giving guidance on church matters to our pastors and leaders.
Elder candidates should exhibit strength in some or all of these areas: sensitivity and wisdom, discernment, spiritual maturity and prayer. See 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1:8-9 for a description from the Bible about the character qualities required for those called into leadership.
Your input is vital to the selection of our leaders. Recommendations may be submitted from now until March 1, 2010, either online or via paper forms available at church on Sunday mornings. Please note that candidate recommendations should be kept confidential.
