Extended Immersion Baptism Video Available Online!
Need a little inspiration? Check out the extended video montage of our recent immersion baptisms, available online - including additional footage of Mountain View baptisms that was not able to be shown during the services last week! Whether you're witnessing these for the first time, or watching them again, you won't be able to help but be encouraged by the testimonies and images of hope!
Submit a Photo for the Directory!
Our photo sessions have been completed, but even if you missed the chance to have a photo taken by Olan Mills, it's not too late to be listed in the Open Door Church Mountain View Directory!
If you wish to be in the directory, but did NOT have your picture taken by Olan Mills, please contact Gerry Soderberg, 650.968.8276, aesgms@comcast.net for instructions on submitting a photo and/or confirmation of current contact information.
If you had your picture taken by Olan Mills, you're all set - no further action is needed on your part to be included.
Let's get everyone in the Directory!
During the months of June, July, and August, Open Door Church and First Presbyterian Church will be collecting school supplies for under resourced children. The agencies that will receive the supplies include Community Services Agency (CSA), Salvation Army, and Family Supportive Housing (FSH). The goal is to collect the school supplies during the summer so that they can be distributed to the children before school starts in September.
If you would like to participate, please bring a fun, colorful binder for an elementary, middle, or high school student filled with the following supplies:
• Lined paper
• Pencil pouch with zipper filled with pens, pencils, erasers
• Dividers
• Glue stick
If you have any questions, please contact Jennie Bader at jsbader@sbcglobal.net.
As we learn about and practice prayer this summer, consider making a commitment to pray daily for the Bay Area. Choose one place in our community - it could be a neighborhood, workplace or school, and pray for people there every day from now through August 1. Visit mppc.org/prayer to note where you will be praying and see where others are praying. For daily prayer prompts follow us on Twitter.com/MPPC_ODC. Bicycle Repair Day 2566 Leghorn St., Mountain View Open Door Church is partnering with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, to provide families and individuals in need with a source of simple transportation by repairing and donating used bicycles to partner community service organizations. Volunteers are needed to staff 15 repair stations. Each station will repair/clean one bike a time. Stations can be staffed by a parent and a child, a family or two adults. For the safety of the volunteers, it is the policy of the Bicycle Exchange that a parent or legal guardian must accompany volunteers under age 18. Each participant will be asked to sign a liability release form. Note: Volunteers must sign-up prior to the event. To sign up, contact Shelli Krunic, skrunic26@gmail.com. Donate a Bicycle Do you have a bicycle in your garage that you no longer use? Well, here is the perfect opportunity to help a family in need by donating your bicycle to the Bicycle Exchange. Bicycles of all sizes - from tricycles to full sized bicycles for adults - are accepted. Flat tires and broken or missing parts are no problem! Volunteers can fix almost anything, except for restoring paint and reversing corrosion. Before donating your bike, ask yourself: • Could an experienced mechanic make this bike functional and safe in one hour or less? • Is the bike substantially free of rust and corrosion? • Is the bike clean enough that you could offer it as a gift without embarrassment? If the answers are all “yes” then the Bicycle Exchange can accept your bicycle. Please clean up your bike before donating it so they can focus on repairs. Bicycles can be donated on the second and fourth Saturday of each month between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm at: 2566 Leghorn St. in Mountain View.
