Evening Edition
encouragement for women in all life stages
Tuesday, April 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Fellowship Hall

Women in all life stages are invited to join us for a special evening of fellowship and encouragement, sponsored by Mothers Together.

Where is God in the Craziness of Life? Have you ever wondered why life is so crazy and chaotic? Is it hard for you to get a handle on the busy-ness of day to day living and find a little peace or a moment of calm? And where exactly is God when everything seems to be turning upside down in your world? Does He even know what you are going through?

Our speaker, Susanna Foth Aughtmon, author of "My Bangs Look Good and Other Lies I Tell Myself: The Tired Supergirl's Search for Truth", will explore these questions using humor, awkward personal stories and the truth of God's Word to find the answers.

This evening is ideal for any woman (mother or not) who would enjoy an evening out with other gals.  Register today!

Foundations for Marriage
Starts Thursday, April 7, 7:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.
Menlo Park, Room C-20: 950 Santa Cruz Avenue

This class is for dating, engaged or newly married couples and will address significant marriage topics from a Christ-centered perspective. Register at mppc.org. Mary Campbell, 650.799.2933.

ODCMV April Event Calendar

Stay on top of what's happening at Open Door Church Mountain View with our monthly Event Calendar!  Paper copies of the calendar are available at church on Sundays.  Pick one up and stick it on your fridge for easy reference.  For additional convenience, you can also view a copy of this Month's ODCMV Activity Calendar online by clicking here.

EDITORIAL NOTE:  Note that the start time listed for "Evening Edition" on the paper version of the calendar available at church is incorrect.  The start time for this event should be 6:30 p.m. rather than 7:00 p.m.  The time listing has been corrected on the PDF version at the link above.  Please accept our sincere apologies for the error and any confusion it may have caused.

"Managing Chaos During Your Job Transition"
Saturday, April 16, 2011, 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Fellowship Hall

Come listen to a panel of experts speak about how to "arm" yourself through your job transition from an emotional, professional, and spiritual perspective. We all have gaps and need to fully understand the "warning signs." Bring a friend or colleague; this is not to be missed!  Contact Marco Rosa, mrosa@mappharma.com.

Mothers Together Spring Fellowship Brunch
Thursday, April 28, 2011, 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Fellowship Hall

Our keynote speaker, Joanie Tankersley, will explore the topic: If God Loves me, Can I Love Myself?  The heart of God is to love...love the world, love the sinner and love the saint. But loving myself can get foggy. How can knowing Jesus more deeply enable me to love myself - and therefore my kids - with the same passion he does?

Childcare available. Registration opens soon.

Elder Recommendations

We are currently inviting the congregation to recommend members to serve a three-year term as elder. If you know someone committed to Christ with the gifts of wisdom and discernment, please recommend them using the elder form or online at mppc.org. Contact Churchwide Nominating Chair Grant Smith, fly7777@aol.com.

Support Japan Relief Efforts

As you know, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake on Friday, March 11, caused severe damage in Japan and triggered a powerful tsunami as well as nuclear hazards.

Please join us in praying for the people affected by this disaster and for their safety and recovery efforts.

We have learned that MPPC's Members in Mission who were in Sendai, Japan, are safe.  We are in touch with our mission and ministry contacts in Japan and we are looking into how we can help.

To contribute to this effort, you can send a check to MPPC with "Japan" on the memo line.  Watch mppc.org/japan for updates.
