Nomination Sunday!
It feels good to have your gifts, talents and abilities affirmed, doesn't it!? For many of us, such affirmations are much more than just a compliment - often, they can give us the confidence we need to use the giftings God has invested in us!
This Sunday, May 16, you'll have an opportunity to affirm the abilities you've seen in others by nominating them for a ministry you think would be a good fit for the giftings you've seen in them! Look for a hand-out on Sunday with a description of ministry opportunities and space to write in the names of 3 people you think may be interested in volunteering if they were asked. (Don't worry, we promise not to badger them if it's not something they feel called to do!)
On the form there will also be a space to nominate yourself if you'd like more information about any of the ministry opportunities listed. (Check out the ministry contacts section of the blog for a preview of ideas.)
If you won't be there on Sunday or if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail your nominations or questions to Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.

Baptism Celebration
Sunday, June 13
If you have committed your life to Jesus and have not been baptized, we invite you to be baptized at a special Baptism Celebration on Sunday, June 13. Those who have already been baptized, but who wish to participate are invited to reaffirm their baptism by profession of faith.
This special service will take place at an off-campus location in Mountain View after the 10:30 a.m. service. Immersion baptisms / re-affirmations of baptism will take place in a swimming pool and sprinkling baptisms / re-affirmations of baptism will take place by the poolside.
A brief time of instruction with the pastor prior to baptism is required for all who participate. An instruction class has been scheduled for Sunday, June 6 at 12 noon in the Fireside Room on our campus. If you are unable to attend at this time, we will do our best to find a time for you to meet with the pastor individually.
Register online. Contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.

On Saturday, June 5, we will partner with Help One Child, a local ministry to foster and foster-adopt families, to provide a fun evening for foster children so their parents can have a night of respite. This is wonderful way to make a difference for families who are dedicated to serving foster children.

• Registration check-in for parents and volunteers
• Crafts with the children (project instructions and materials provided)
• Playing games with the children (games provided)

Some volunteer positions only require an hour and half of time (such as set-up, registration, and clean-up).
For new volunteers, there is a one-hour training session on Tuesday, May 25 at ODCMV. To volunteer, please contact Bonnie Clark, bonnclark@yahoo.com.
