Did You Know?
Enjoy a lovely walk: Parking can be a real challenge if you are visiting a church for the first time, so let’s leave the best parking for visitors. Give yourself a little more time, park farther away and enjoy the walk. It‘s good for you!
No buffer Zones: On Easter, we'll need all of our seating, so it's time to give up that one chair “buffer” of personal space that we put between people - and invite someone new to sit next to you!
Be a shepherd: Consider yourself the unofficial chaplain for the few rows of seats near you. If anyone new comes into your area, take the initiative to meet them, listen to them, and help them to make connections. Don’t assume that someone else in your row will do this – you are the one!
Share the joy: Invite your friends and neighbors to church on Sunday. Think about those people you've been meaning to invite to church, but for whatever reason it has not happened. Let this be the day!
If you have any questions, please feel welcome to contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.
In April:
Easter Offering 2012
Sundays in AprilRedeem, Restore, Rebuild. We are a local expression of a global Church. Through our Easter Offering we have the opportunity to encourage and launch ministries around the world as a sign of Christ’s resurrecting power to redeem, restore, and rebuild lives. The Easter Offering is over and above our regular offerings, and in 2012 will support specific ministries in two areas: community development in Haiti and faith-based efforts to assist victims of Human Trafficking. You can learn more and donate at mppc.org/easteroffering. Thank you for your generosity. Your gift will help thousands of people around the world know the love of Christ in a very meaningful way.
Maundy Thursday Communion Service
Thursday, April 5, 7:00 p.m.
Fellowship Hall
Join us for a special remembrance of the Last Supper of our Lord with his disciples, hosted by our Scott Palmbush and Tim Boyer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View! This 5th annual combined service has become a beloved tradition for our congregations and will feature a time for communion and an opportunity to anoint one another with oil, as we recall the example Jesus demonstrated as He taught his disciples to serve one another. You won't want to miss the sweet blessing of this evening, so be sure to mark this on your calendar! Contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.
Good Friday Service
Friday, April 6, 7:00 p.m.
FPC Sanctuary
Join the churches on the corner in the Sanctuary (cross the grass from Fellowship Hall) for a contemplative evening service. At this special service we will take time to reflect on the great love of our God and His willingness to spare no expense in bridging the gap between death and life so that unbroken relationship with Him could be restored to us now and always. Contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.
Easter Celebration Service
Sunday, April 8, 9:00 & 10:30 a.m.
Fellowship Hall
Come join in this celebration of the HOPE and bring your friends! Prayerfully consider who in your life might be blessed by an invitation to join you for church on Easter Sunday. Special music during the services and an Easter egg hunt for children following both services will make this a memorable time for all ages. Contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.
Women’s Spiritual Mentor Training
Saturday, April 14
Patti Harvey's home in Menlo Park
Do you desire to be a spiritual companion to another woman, prayerfully encouraging her to discern her next spiritual steps? Perhaps God is calling you to be a spiritual mentor.
Trained Christian mentors meet one-on-one for prayer and focused confidential conversation with women in our congregation or community who seek an increased awareness of God’s presence in their lives and who desire personal help in determining the next steps in their spiritual growth.
Mentor training sessions are held twice a year, in the spring and fall. The next training session is Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register at mppc.org. Contact Patti Harvey, pharvey@menlomentors.org.
US Marines Care Package
Sundays, April 15 & 22

Let them know that they are not forgotten and are very much appreciated by preparing and sending a Care Package! Our goal is for Open Door Church Mountain View to send 200 boxes! Look for shipping boxes and instruction sheets at church on Sundays, April 15 & 22. Contact Judy Lovejoy, jlovejoy@mppc.org.
