ODCMV Adult and Children's Choirs
We are beginning our Spring 2010 Choir season at Open Door Church!
Our Children's Choir (K-5th grade) met for a first rehearsal on February 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel.
If you would like more information about either choir please contact Denise Collins, NiecyAnn@gmail.com. We have an exciting program for each choir, and would welcome new faces.
Youth Band

Day of Dental Care in Memory of Dr. Suzanne Hamilton, D.D.S.
Do you find yourself in need of dental care because of a job loss or loss of insurance in the economic downturn? Dr. Kiran Rapal, D.D.S. and her staff will provide a day of dental care in memory of Dr. Suzanne Hamilton, D.D.S., a beloved pioneer at Open Door Church Mountain View and dentist in Saratoga.
To receive dental care, you need to be connected to a ministry partner of Open Door Church Mountain View or attend one of the ODC/MPPC campuses. After signing up, we will email you confirmation and your arrival time of 8:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Please be prepared to stay until 4:30 p.m.
Volunteer Opportunities
Shift 1: 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Set up breakfast refreshments and hand out forms. Provide childcare as needed.
Shift 2: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Set up lunch and hand out forms. Provide childcare as needed.
Volunteers are invited to donate homemade muffins, breads, or bottled water at the church office on April 8. The church office is located at 1451 Grant Rd., #102, Mountain View, 94040. (Calling before you come, to confirm that someone is in the office, is recommended: 650.330.7525.)

AIDS Caregiver Kit Build
This project will provide a family friendly service opportunity to assemble 1,000 AIDS Caregiver Kits.
Need: Leaders are needed for the following sub-teams: inventory, set up, registration, table managers, card table, quality control, packaging and shipping, refreshments, clean up, parking lot, and music and video. Castro Preschool Playground
This preschool serves 68 children ages 3 to 5 years of age from low-income families. Volunteers will rebuild the Preschool garden into a combined gardening and outdoor play area to serve the developmental needs of the pre-school students. Castro Elementary Día del Libro Festival
This public elementary school serves hundreds of Mountain View’s lowest income families. The campus also serves as a community center for the low-income, largely Hispanic community that surrounds it. This family-friendly project will facilitate festival booths, activities, and games focused on literacy, books, and the joy of reading. Activities will include lively storytelling, songs, games, and other educational activities in a carnival atmosphere. For more information, please contact Trina Weller, kweller@sbcglobal.net.
Jeremiah’s Promise
This ministry serves young women who have aged out of the foster care system. Jeremiah’s Promise provides housing and counseling as well as academic, financial, and spiritual guidance. As a result, the young women have a family environment, stability, and support to persevere through a difficult transition in their lives and are able to connect with the local, Christian community. The Compassion Weekend team will create an atmosphere of beauty through interior projects and gardening projects. Please join us in praying for the planning of this project. March’s potluck will also feature an inspiring video from the 2009 Willow Creek Leadership Summit, in which Pastor Harvey Carey, tells an amazing story of transformation that has taken place in an inner city church in Detroit, Michigan. Founder and Senior Pastor of Citadel of Faith Covenant Church, the fastest-growing multicultural church in the region, Harvey is known internationally as a dynamic speaker whose inspiring leadership and vision for urban renewal unites people across boundaries of race, age, class, and culture.

Next Sunday March 14, 1:30-2:30 p.m. we will host an installation service for John, Jim and Scott on our campus. Mark Labberton, former senior pastor of FPC Berkeley and current preaching chair at Fuller Seminary, will preach for the service and Jeff Finger will lead worship. The University of Redlands Chapel Singers is an advanced chamber ensemble composed of undergraduate and graduate music students. Founded in 1965, the ensemble has a long tradition of musical excellence. The Chapel Singers regularly perform concerts, church services, and educational workshops. The ensemble has toured extensively in the United States as well as internationally. The conductor, Dr. Jean-Sebastien Vallee, is the Music Director at Redlands First Presbyterian Church, Pastor Tim Boyer's former church.
The University's School of Music is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music and offers a conservatory approach in a liberal arts setting. The university was founded in 1907, and is a private liberal arts and sciences university, consistently ranked among the best universities in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
Open Door Church Mountain View, in conjunction with First Presbyterian church of Mountain View, will be collecting food each Sunday in March for the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army welcomes donations of canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and other condiments. No glass containers please!

Ripple Effect Small Groups
We have people meeting all over the Peninsula and South Bay in Ripple Effect small groups. They have found the Ripple Effect curriculum to be powerful material, teaching them how God wants to work this Ripple Effect through our lives and to give us more of His heart for His world.
